Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine (MBChB, MBBS, MD)
  • Master’s degree – MBA, MMSc Msc, Health Systems Management presents an added advantage.

Experience Required

  • 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a busy hospital set-up
  • Experience in supervisory / management role in healthcare context.

Key Responsibilities:

The Quality and Patient Safety Coordinator will support Equity Afia Quality Assurance and Patient Safety initiatives. S/He will be responsible for the effective application of quality standards and procedures to strengthen clinical services offered by Equity Afia. S/He will collaborate with other departments & support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives in Equity Afia medical centers. The position holder will report to the Head of Clinical Services. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading Clinical Quality Improvement initiatives in line with the goals of Equity Afia to offer comprehensive affordable high-quality services & drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement quality and patient safety audit framework for Equity Afia network
  • Lead facility participation in the institutional quality improvement and patient safety agenda.
  • Effectively manage patient/client complaints and incidents.
  • Development and implementation of clinical guidelines, SOPs, and protocols, ensuring they are in place, implemented, monitored, revised, and updated as necessary.
  • Leading Continuous Medical Education programs and other relevant learning programs in the network.
  • Contributing to exemplary customer experience at Equity Afia by addressing relevant customer concerns timely ensure sustained high customer satisfaction.

Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize clearly, oversee multiple tasks, set clear objectives & work across teams.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and manage personal stress levels.
  • Creative, open-minded, flexible, and self-learner.
  • Team-player with good inter-personal skills.
