Other Requirements / Information:

  • Bachelor or MA degree in project management, development studies, rural development, Sociology, Economics with at least 3 years of relevant experience for MA and  5 years  for BA degree, of which two years’ experience should be in NGOs;
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of integrated multi-sectoral projects;
  • Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications
  • Multi-sectoral Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Plan’s sponsorship programs is a desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of project cycle management and child focused programming;
  • Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development;
  • Knowledge of effective participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Research systems and processes;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with colleagues;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills;
  • Numeracy and the ability to interpret financial data, in order to understand budgetary processes including planning, monitoring and reporting.
  • A predisposition to collaborative and positive engagement with functions in the organisation
  • A commitment to communicate in a timely manner.

Dimensions of the Role:

  • Management of the SPAD budget at the program area level
  • Responsible for project design, overseeing implementation and monitoring (where appropriate with the participation of sponsored children) in these relevant stages of project management while ensuring quality program delivery;
  • Ensures integration as well as smooth teamwork within and across other programs (including sponsorship operation) at the program area level;
  • Key components of the position are regional advocacy and networking, strategic thematic area planning, developing and strengthening partnerships, and mainstreaming of child focus local programming;
  • Ensure versatile partnership based on mutual accountability through collaborative engagement for the achievement of results;
