The National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) is a semi-autonomous government agency (SAGA) under the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs, in the State Department of Gender Affairs. The Fund was enacted through Legal Notice No.24 of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012 and published on 13th February 2015. The Fund is governed by the Public Finance Management Act, 2012 (National Government Affirmative Action Fund), Regulations 2016.

Reporting To:

  • Chef Executive Officer

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized institution;
  • Master of Laws degree from a recognized institution;
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.
  • Served in the grade of Deputy Director, Legal Services for a minimum period of four (4) years or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of twelve (12) years, five (5) of which shall be at senior management role.

Responsibilities:

The Corporation Secretary Responsible for:

  • Maintaining and updating the register of conflicts of interests;
  • Ensuring that Board members are aware of all relevant laws affecting the organization;
  • Ensure that annual returns are promptly filed with the relevant authorities.
  • Providing guidance to the board on their duties and responsibilities and on matters governance;
  • Assist the Board in carrying out Board Inductions and Training
  • Assist the Board in updating the Board and Committee Charters;
  • Ensuring timely preparation and circulation of Board and Committee papers and minutes.
